Black Thunder Coal Mine is a surface coal mining operation located in Wyoming's Powder River Basin near Wright, one of the world's largest coal deposits. The mine has been operational since 1977 and is currently operated by Thunder Basin Coal Company, a subsidiary of Arch Resources Inc., producing a
